Dear Parent/Guardian,
Welcome to A. Louise Garland Thomas High School! We are thrilled to have you and your child join us for the academic year 2024 - 2025 under the theme "Anchored in Achievement: Reaching New Horizons." You have chosen a top-tier secondary institution known for its outstanding academic performance and diverse extracurricular activities.
Your child will benefit from our knowledgeable and caring educators in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Our dynamic curriculum focuses on developing entrepreneurial and critical thinking skills. In addition to academic excellence, we prioritize character education and offer a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports, expressive arts, and leadership opportunities through our SEAP after-school program.
Our curriculum is enriched with technology to ensure that our students are well-prepared for the demands of the modern world. Furthermore, your child will engage in the Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC) program, which is designed to provide certification to junior high level students by CXC.
Please take note of the following important dates:
- School officially reopens for ALL students on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
- Orientation for Form 1: Friday, August 30, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at the school.
- Orientation for Form 2: Monday, September 2, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at the school.
- Orientation for Form 3: Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at the school.
During the orientation, you will have the opportunity to purchase the following items:
- Student I.D.s: $15
- School Crests: $6 each (crests MUST be sewn onto your child’s uniform shirt or blouse)
- P.E. Uniforms: $40
- School Ties (Form 3 Students ONLY): $20
